Piano Majors

Piano is one of our most popular majors here at NYYM.  Studying piano can provide a solid background in music.  Learning how to read notes, understand rhythms, developing coordination, furthering the ability to concentrate and multitask, all help students gain a fundamental understanding of music which can help them learn a second instrument that may be more technically challenging, as well as help students progress in their school work, home work and exams.

All of our private lessons students receive a well rounded music education, incorporating Music Theory, Ear Training, Music History and Music Technology.  We also offer Music Therapy for students with Special Needs. 

For students that are considering pursuing music in junior high school, high school, college or professionally, we also have a specialized Audition Preparation Program.  We work extra hours as needed to make sure our students are prepared, holding mock auditions and video recordings to guide them through the process.
